G.R.T. Gila River Tactical

Gila River Tactical is the tactical division of Gila River Gun Works. Due to the increase in customer demand and the need for precision tactical rifle systems Gila River Tactical was formed. Founder, owner, and operator Michael Scherz is an established builder of custom rifles and specialty weapon parts. Michael took his experience of building precision rifles and took input from current and ex military to create Gila River Tactical. One of the main differences of Gila River Tactical compared to other custom rifle builders is the diverse knowledge of building rifles with foreign and domestic receivers/actions. Gila River Tactical is also the Country's foremost Sako TRG and Tikka T3 gunsmith. At Gila River Tactical we can modify, install, thread, or even install an oversized recoil lug on the Tikka T3 and Sako TRG actions.  Michael's tactical rifle creations can be found throughout the South-East Idaho area, in use in tactical competitions and f-class shooting disciplines.

Gila River Tactical only uses the finest in materials, and parts. If we build a Tactical precision rifle for you or your department you can expect at the very least ½ MOA accuracy at 100yds using premium factory ammunition. However we have found that most of our customers have seen better performance than ½ MOA and many have reported ¼ MOA and even better. We can also build what we call an Ultra precision rifle. These rifles are built by utilizing even more extremely precise tolerances than our Tactical precision rifles and we can guarantee ¼MOA or better performance. However we do not recommend using Ultra precision rifles for field work as the tolerances are so tight that grains of sand and dirt could possibly bind the action.
